This is the more mature version of the story of Un-Lock-It.
As a woman, I was always told that I had to be a certain way, “stop being so vocal”, “stop being so loud”, “be softer”, “choose motherhood or career”. I was complimented as long as I played small. If I wanted to fit in, if I wanted approval, I would have to colour inside the lines, know my place, and stay cuffed. This piece of jewellery is designed as a cuff, but an open cuff, a cuff that’s beautiful and elegant but can be taken off and put back on at any time, by choice.
It represents choices, being free, and being completely true to ourselves regardless of the phases we’re going through as women.
Like with all my designs, I want this special piece of jewellery to be for girls and women to have, wear, and pass on to their daughters and nieces. I hope men gift the woman they most love this special piece, understanding what it represents. I dream that women who wear it are reminded every day that they are free to be anything they want to be and that they don’t have to fit a box to be loved and accepted.
